FLATHEAD VALLEY, MONTANA · SINCE 1947
A working cattle ranch and outfit in Montana's Flathead Valley — open to guests since 1947.
For four generations the Calloway family has run cattle and horses on seven thousand acres between the Flathead River and the Whitefish Range, a short drive from the west gate of Glacier National Park. From May through October, we open the gate. Come stay in a log cabin or a canvas wall tent, ride out across country that still works for a living, fish a river that runs cold and clear off the mountains, and sit down to supper at a long cookhouse table. This is not a theme of the West. It is the real thing, and you are welcome at it.

Spend a morning as a ranch hand moving cattle, then an afternoon on the porch with nowhere to be. Browse the Mercantile for goods made by Montana hands — hand-braided horsehair, tooled leather, forged steel, ranch wool, wildflower honey. However you spend the day, it ends the same way: a good meal, big sky, and the quiet you came for.

Since 1947
Walter and Ada Calloway built this place after the war; their grandchildren run it now. The cattle still come first, the way they always have — which is exactly why a stay here feels like the genuine article. Read the ranch's story.

Guest season runs May through October. Book a cabin, a ride, or a seat at the table.
